The material is not soft to the touch, and the bag/box in which it was delivered had excess beans that had fallen out. Upon calling customer service to return, he was careless and said all pillows have beans that come out. This was not a concern whatsoever for him. I have owned many good quality pillows in my life which do not lose beans.
